Practice with Conversational AI (Role-Play Activity)
This activity is part of an English learning program using Conversational Artificial Intelligence to improve students’ communicative competence and memory retention.
In this activity, students will perform a role play dialogue with AI using ChatGPT as a conversation partner.
Steps

The WhatsApp group is used for:
• receiving instructions
• asking questions
• reporting problems
• receiving guidance from the researcher

Download the dialogue material from the Materials page.
The material contains the dialogue scenario and role play instructions.

After opening ChatGPT:
• upload the dialogue material file
or
• copy and paste the dialogue into ChatGPT
Then type:
"Let's do a role play based on this dialogue. You act as [ROLE NAME], and I act as [ROLE NAME]."
Upload the materials to ChatGPT

Start the role play with ChatGPT.
You must:
• perform the dialogue with AI
• respond to the AI appropriately
• continue the conversation naturally
• complete the dialogue
After finishing, switch roles.
If you were Role A, now become Role B.
This helps improve your communicative competence and memory retention.

You may repeat the role play to improve your fluency and understanding.
The more you practice, the better your communication skills will become.
